Allyshia Renay is an award-winning journalist and television host with a passion for all things adventurous and whimsical. She is also the host/producer of the critically acclaimed New York based travel and lifestyle show, “Get Away for a Day with Allyshia Renay!”
Combining her love for travel and zest for learning, she explores some of the most exclusive hidden gems throughout New York state that are off the typical tourists’ routes, including: Oheka Castle (Huntington, N.Y.) where Great Gatsby meets Versailles; Wings Castle (Millbrook, N.Y.) where fairytales meet camping trips; Abbey Inn & Spa (Peekskill, N.Y.) where Dynasty meets Grandma’s Summer Garden; Castle Inn & Spa (Tarrytown, N.Y.) where majesty meets mystery; The Cloisters in Fort Tryon Park (Manhattan) where Italy meets Central Park and more. She also allows her audience to experience international locales including Positano, Italy; Kyoto, Japan; and Strasbourg, France.
“Get Away for a Day with Allyshia Renay!” has many awards such as the esteemed Telly Award for Religious/Spiritual Television Programming for a feature episode on Chaung Yen Monastery, a Communicator Award for her feature on The Roxbury Experience Motel, the BRIC TV WOW! Factor Award for Best TV Host, the NYC Smartphone Festival for Best Travel Video and has been nominated for a total seven TASTE Awards.
The Alabama A&M Graduate’s passion for travel is equally matched by her love for sports and modeling. She has worked at leading sports industry entities including the U.S. Open and ESPN2. She was also named as the 2004 winner of the Ashley Stewart “Great Woman of Style” Model Search. Allyshia Renay’s exuberance and infectious personality are the perfect backdrop for each episode as she allows her audience to “get away for a day” and visit places beyond their wildest imagination.
